Kinderen kunnen ook heel stil zitten, maar hun gedachten kunnen enorme sprongen maken, net als de kikker. Voor ze het weten springen ze er zelf achteraan.<\/li><li>De adembeweging kun je goed volgen bij kikkers. Bij zichzelf kunnen kinderen dit ook goed zien en voelen.<\/li><li>Een kikker is zich tijdens het stilzitten \u00f3\u00f3k bewust van zijn omgeving. Zodra er gevaar dreigt springt hij weg. Zodra hij een vlieg ziet, komt zijn tong naar buiten.<\/li><li>Een kikker transformeert in een bekend sprookje tot een prins als hij de gouden bal van een prinses uit de vijver haalt, en de prinses vraagt hem te kussen. Dit gaat natuurlijk niet zonder slag of stoot en dat is met meditatie ook zo. Er is heel wat inspanning, discipline en compassie nodig om de transformatie, die mindfulness teweegbrengt te ervaren.<\/li><li>Tot slot is er een mooie oude Japanse haiku over een kikker:<\/li><li><p><em>O, oude vijver<br \/><\/em><em>Een kikker springt erin<br \/><\/em><em>Geluid van water<\/em><\/p><\/li><li>Stil water roept vanouds een gevoel op van diepte, tijdloosheid, onpeilbaarheid op.<p>De plons van de springende kikker geeft besef van het zich altijd bewegende en levendige NU. Zelfvertrouwen, veerkracht, anders omgaan met spanning en zorgen, beter slapen door minder te piekeren of minder kritisch leren zijn naar zichzelf en anderen. Kinderen ontdekken dat het leren kennen en begrijpen van de binnenwereld net zo belangrijk is als het uit je hoofd leren van hoofdsteden. Door te leren mediteren, verhalen, aandachtoefeningen en bewegingsoefeningen leren kinderen meer aanwezig te zijn in dit moment. De concentratie neemt toe en de zorgen over de test van morgen of over de ruzie van gister neemt af. Aandachttraining begint bij de adem, en die voel je altijd NU. Zodra je aanwezig kunt zijn bij wat je nu voelt, denkt en ervaart, leer je je binnenwereld steeds beter begrijpen en automatische reacties op gevoelens zelf te be\u00efnvloeden. Bewust en minder vanuit een impuls. Door uit het (vaak overvolle) hoofd in contact met je lichaam te zijn, ontdek je waar spanning en ontspanning voelbaar zijn. Waar vermoeidheid of spanning zich in uitten in onrustig of juist teruggetrokken gedrag. Kinderen ontdekken dat je niet hoeft te oordelen over wat jijzelf of anderen denken, voelen of ervaren. Er ontstaat mededogen en begrip. Tijdens de training worden kinderen geholpen creatieve en helpende manieren te vinden om zelfs de heftigste emoties of donkerste gedachten te verwelkomen en er iets mee te doen. Maar bovenal leren kinderen aardig zijn. Naar anderen en naar zichzelf.
